Location

The Beautiful Studio

Since November 2007, we have been meeting in the Beautiful Studio!  This large space is in an artist's studio building very near the border of Minneapolis and Saint Paul.  The studio is a welcoming space with a restored gym floor and large windows on the east side.  The space is rectangular and open, providing us with an ideal location for our practice. 

Location

The Beautiful Studio is located in the Midway area near Hwy 280 and I-94 in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The site is known as the old Singer Sewing Machine Building aka the home of Puuuurniture where they make kitty furnitureWink

It's easy to reach from Minneapolis or Saint Paul via Interstate 94, although traveling here can be time-consuming with rush-hour traffic.

Class Entrance

The entrance is on Hampden Ave side of the building.  The doorway is about 50 feet from the University/Hampden corner of the building.  If this outside door of the building is locked, please call Katherine's cell phone: 612-990-9642 and we will come to the front door to let you in.  Be sure to check the door for posted signs!

Directions to the Building:

From the West, North West or South:

  • Take I-94 to the Cretin/Vandalia exit which is east of the Highway 280 Exit.
  • Take a left on Vandalia crossing over I-94 and go north to University Avenue - 0.4 miles.
  • Take a left on University Avenue and go west to Hampden Avenue - 0.2 miles.
  • Take a left on Hampden Avenue and park anywhere on the street or in the parking lot in the back of the building.

From the East:

  • Take I-94 to the Cretin/Vandalia exit which is west of the Snelling Avenue.
  • Take a right on Vandalia and go north to University Avenue - 0.3 miles.
  • Take a left on University Avenue and go west to Hampden Avenue - 0.2 miles.
  • Take a left on Hampden Avenue and park anywhere on the street or in the parking lot in the back of the building.

From the North:

  • Take 35W south to Highway 280 south.  
  • Take the Territorial Road/University Avenue exit.
  • Turn left on University Avenue and go east to Hampden Avenue - 0.7 miles.
  • Take a right on Hampden Avenue and park anywhere on the street or in the parking lot in the back of the building.
