Spring I 2009 - Session Times and Details

This class is part of the Spring I 2010 session of Saturday Morning Yoga.  This is a series of 8 classes from February 27th to April 17th, and all classes are held at The Beautiful Space.

Class Agenda

Perhaps you have noticed lately how pervasive the trivilization of anything and everything in our society has become.

I just read a bumper sticker yesterday:

"I voted for Obama and all I got was this historic vicotory on health care"

Whether you were thumbs up or down on this issue, I'm betting you were frustrating by the lack of meaningful insightful inclusive reporting by the media. Even public TV and radio see society through a lens of white middle class values.

I bring this up because I want to remind you that what we do at the Kula, on a week by week basis, is to hold space, time and opportunity for you to be still............and know.

Life's pace has been turned up another notch and we continue to experience incredible dualistic competitiveness amoungst one another. I personally find I need to take more time than I think I need to, to simply experience being a human being.

Being is where we can shed what we no longer need

Being is where we contradict this inhumane pace we feel all around us

Being is where we can actually notice our connection to one another and to the earth

Being is where we can feel the quality of our hearts - connected to all of life.

Being is where we fill our tanks back up to be able to go back out there and really make a difference in our lives, remembering that our relationships with each other are far more important than what we do, what we have, or what's happening in the market......

This year my sankalpa (intention) is to take myself completely seriously. For me, this means not buying into all the compelling distress my conceptual mind spits out regularly about not being enough, not having enough, not feeling connected

Contradicting our core chronics is not easy, no one said it would be, but I know you know how important it is to be completly you and to ACT from this freedom for the benefit of all living beings!

We can't do this work alone.

We need each other

We need regular perspective

And we need a place and time to do this invaluable work.

See you in class!
